Great weekend at the races

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

I spent Friday and Saturday night at Chicagoland speedway, just a hop, skip, and jump from the house. A buddy of mine knew a guy who had an extra ticket so I said I’d go. This was my 3rd or 4th time at Chicagoland Speedway and, as usually, it was a blast. Lots of tailgating, cornhole (which I did miserably at), and racing fun. I wish it was an Indy race, but the two NASCAR races were still fun.

I also had fun with my new iPhone 4′s camera. Wow is it way better than the one on my 3G. I’ve got a couple pictures from it posted in my flickr gallery, but my favorite is the panorama I stitched together using the iPhone app AutoStitch. It’s really a good look at the track.

A great look at Chicagoland Speedway

Annoying iPhone Issue

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

I’ve had an annoying iPhone issue the last couple of weeks while listening to podcasts.  The podcasts would sync down to the iPhone fine, play fine, but not finish fine.  The podcast playlist would end when the last podcast in that feed played.  Lately, it would start the podcast or podcast playlist over from the beginning when the last podcast ended.  I looked at the iPod player prefs and couldn’t find anything wrong so I googled it tonight and found this article, which is over a year old.  It pointed me right to the problem.  Apparently I bumped the replay button when looking at the podcast player scrubber at some point and never turned it off.  DOH!

Bad Timing

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

Well, I upgraded the site last night to WordPress 2.5 RC2.  This morning the final version came out so I had to upgrade again.  It’s not a hard process, but isn’t it just the way things go that this kind of stuff always ends up happening?

The site does seem a bit snappier to me.  Not sure if that’s real or imagined.  I also added a plugin to make the site more mobile friendly.  Check out http://www.virtualomni.com from your iPhone or Blackberry and see how it looks.  It should be pretty easy to use.
