The Callis grandparents came over for dinner yesterday to celebrate Sheri and Grandpa’s birthdays. In preparation, I made some vegetable barley soup. When I finished with that prep and it was stewing away in the crockpot, I decided to make a pear tart with the kids. We didn’t have any pears, only apples so we used those instead. The tart isn’t very sweet as made with the recipe. Next time I think i’ll add a cup of brown sugar to the apple mixture. I had the kids do just about everything except peel and chop the apples. Here are a couple of pics from the event. The kids had a great time. When licking the bowl, TC decided to stick his whole head in the bowl. Notice the spiked hair!
